DAVENPORT, Iowa - After being off the past two weekends, Oklahoma Christian Men's bowling was back in action this weekend at the Leatherneck Classic in Davenport, Iowa.

The Leatherneck is the biggest Tier 2 event of the season, with 44 men's varsity and 17 men's junior varsity teams competing. Qualifying consisted of 5 traditional team games on Saturday and 16 baker games on Sunday before cutting to the top 8 teams for bracket match play.

SATURDAY
OC got off to a slow start on Saturday but improved every game, putting up scores of 930, 947, 972, 1008, and 1037. OC would finish day one in 9th place with a total pinfall of 4894.

Individually, the men were led by junior CJ Petrin. Petrin had games of 214, 213, 223, 224, and 268 for a total pinfall of 1142, averaging over 228 for his 5 games. Petrin's performance landed him in second place individually, earning him his second All-Tournament Team award of the season.

SUNDAY
The Eagles came into Sunday's competition in 9th place, looking to move into the top 8 match-play cut. Sunday's competition consisted of 4 - 4 game baker sets. OC would battle in the first three sets, putting up four-game totals of 763, 775, and 766, moving them into 8th place with one set to go.

The Eagles got off to a slow start in the final set with games of 169 and 144. OC would switch lanes and put-up games of 213 and 171 to finish the final 4-game set with a score of 697. OC dropped a couple of places after the final baker set, finishing the tournament in 10th place.
