Volleyball Reverse Sweeps Southeastern Oklahoma State

DURANT, Okla. - Volleyball (11-8, LSC 3-3) hit the road for the second in-state non-conference match of the week, this time heading to Durant for a matchup with the Savage Storm (8-12).
 
First Set
Southeastern opened the match on fire, hitting .429 in the opening set en route to 17 kills and a 25-17 first-set win.
 
Second Set
The Eagles responded in the second set, taking it to extra points before the Savage Storm took set two 26-24. OC's offense started to click though, as Annie Davis, Giorgia Turri, and Kathryn Christie all had multiple kills in the set.
 
Third Set
That offensive momentum carried over into set three, with the offensive putting away its most kills in a set with thirteen on a hitting percentage of .298. Davis, Turri, and Christie each had multiple kills again, leading to a dominant, 25-16, set three win. 
 
Fourth Set
Oklahoma Christian took a 10-3 lead in the fourth set and ran away with the set to the tune of 25-12 to force a fifth set. Turri had four of her team-high 17 kills and two aces to lead the Eagles.
 
Fifth set
OC also dominated the fifth set, taking a 9-3 lead a little past the midway point, and won the deciding set 15-10. Camryn McGough, Davis, and Turri each had multiple kills to help Oklahoma Christian win the set and the match.
 
NOTES
  • Giorgia Turri led the way with 17 kills, 3 aces, and 14 digs for a double-double.
  • Camryn McGough added 8 blocks to her season total, bringing her to fourth place in the Lone Star Conference, with 85 total blocks.
  • Lauren McClure had 20 assists, and Rainey Aven added 16 to fuel the comeback.
  • Brylie Berryman led the defense with 20 assists, bringing her team-leading total to 220.
 
UP NEXT
The Eagles will jump back into conference play next week with road matches at DBU on Friday and West Texas A&M on Saturday.
