OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Women's soccer (4-2-5, LSC 0-2-4) returned to Eagle Soccer Field after a week on the road to take on the Mustangs of Midwestern State (5-3-4, LSC 2-2-2) in a late afternoon matchup.
WHAT WENT DOWN
- Oklahoma Christian looked to have an early goal when Kyla Lovelace put a shot in the back of the net, but after Midwestern State kicked off, the refs convened and wiped away the would-be goal in the 4th minute.
- Midwestern State took advantage of the opportunity and scored in the 6th minute with connected passes up to and through the 18-yard box.
- Ruta Andrews put a shot on goal in the 11th minute, one of eleven shots that OC took in the first half.
- Breanna Wooten saved the Mustangs' only other shot on goal in the first half.
- OC added eight more shots to its total in the second half, launching nineteen total shots in the match, putting pressure on MSU the entire match.
- In the 78th minute, Andrews broke through with another chance. This time, she was fed by Rani Mueller, and Ruta found the back of the net to tie the match.
- Wooten made a save in the 73rd and protected the frame in the 82nd minute to keep the match even, ending in a 1-1 draw.
NOTES
- Ruta's goal was the third of her freshman campaign, putting her tied for second most on the team, one behind Kyla Lovelace.
- Rani's assist was her second of the year, which is good for second most on the team, one behind Holland Reece.
