Lawton, Okla. - The Lady Eagles opened their four-game road trip with a strong first quarter and battled till the end with the Aggies at Cameron.
The Lady Eagles opened the game on fire, shooting 50% from the field in the quarter to jump out to a 17-11 lead. They took an 8-2 lead to start the quarter, as
Nakia Cullom and
Jordan Francisco opened the game with layups,
Kate Bradley hit a three on the next possession, and
Brooklin Bain connected on a free throw. Seven Oklahoma Christian players scored in the opening quarter, led by
Brooklin Bain with 4 points.
The Aggies came out swinging in the second quarter, knocking down four three-pointers en route to a 24-9 quarter and a lead of 35-26 at the break. Bain scored 7 points in the quarter to lead the Eagles and brought her total at the half to 11 points to go with 2 rebounds.
Bradley opened the 3rd quarter with a 3-pointer, but the three, was one of the two field goals in the quarter as the Aggies pushed the lead to 52-37. The Aggies held a double-digit lead until five minutes remained in the game, and then the Lady Eagles caught fire.
OC held Cameron scoreless over the next three minutes and went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 56-51 with 2:17 to play. Bradley and Bain teamed up on the run to bring the Lady Eagles back in it, but the Aggies knocked hit their free throws down the stretch to hold onto a 61-52 win.
