Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Kregg Matthews

Lovelace (or Stockton) scores the game-winner in the 88th minute

Ada, Okla. - Women's soccer (2-1-1) traveled to Ada to take on the Tigers of East Central (0-3-2), and they came away with the road win, 1-0.

The Eagles came away with the road with their second clean sheet this week, shutting out a team averaging over 2 goals a game this season. They did so by shutting down the Tigers' offense and allowing ZERO shots on goal in today's matchup.

Ashlee Jackson and Gabby Goddard combined for the shutout, and Brooklyn Fink and the rest of the back line locked down the ECU offense all afternoon.

The game-winning goal came in the 88th minute as Kyla Lovelace (or Kenley Stockton, depending on whom you ask), according to the official stats, scored on a loose ball in the box, putting it in the back of the net. The debate comes as both Kyla and Kenley contacted the ball on the shot.

"The fight in the team was amazing today. We had a few chances that didn't go our way, but I was proud of the team for finding a way to win at the end of the game." coach Dresel said after the game. "East Central is a great team so it was a big win for us on the road."

Oklahoma Christian is back on the road this weekend to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. in Weatherford.
