Headed into national tournament, OC golf remains in top 10

NORMAN, Okla. (May 13, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian will carry a top-10 ranking into the NCAA Division II Championship, as the Eagles were No. 7 in the latest Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, released Friday.

OC slipped one spot from the previous poll, released three weeks ago. Since then, they finished fourth in the Division II South Central-West Super Regional at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colo., earning a berth into next week's national tournament at TPC Michigan in Detroit.

The Eagles, who have won four tournaments this season, have not finished lower than fourth in any of their 11 tournaments this season. OC will be making its second appearance in the Division II Championship, with the other coming in 2016.

The top 10 in the coaches' poll included No. 1 Barry (Fla.), Arkansas Tech, Lee (Tenn.), North Georgia, Limestone (S.C.), Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.), OC, Georgia Southwestern, Carson-Newman (Tenn.) and Florida Southern. OC's Lone Star Conference rival, Midwestern State (Texas), moved up three spots to No. 14, while fellow Oklahoma school Rogers State was No. 17.

Joining OC in the 20-team field for the Division II Championship will be Barry, Arkansas Tech, Lee, North Georgia, Limestone, Georgia Southwestern, Florida Southern, No. 11 Central Missouri, Midwestern State, No. 23 Indianapolis (Ind.), No. 24 Grand Valley State (Mich.), No. 25 Missouri-St. Louis and seven unranked teams – Findlay (Ohio), Colorado State-Pueblo, Colorado Mesa, St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.), Charleston (W.Va.), Gannon (Pa.) and Davis and Elkins (W.Va.).
