OC soccer alum Hilton receives coaching honor

YUKON, Okla. (April 29, 2022) – Yukon High School boys soccer coach Neil Hilton, an Oklahoma Christian alumnus, has been selected as the Class 6A West All-State coach of the year.

Hilton has been Yukon's coach since September 2016, and previously served in the same position from January 2014 to December 2015. This spring, he guided the Millers to an 8-4 record.

Hilton enjoyed a stellar four-year playing career as a midfielder for the Eagles from 2008-2011. He earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference second-team honors as a junior and All-SAC first-team honors as a senior. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2012 and his master's degree in 2014, both from OC.

The Liverpool, England, native tied a single-season school record with 11 assists in 2011 and added six goals, helping the Eagles post an 8-6-4 mark and reach the SAC tournament. A four-year starter, Hilton finished his OC career with 20 goals and 25 assists.

In addition to his work at Yukon, Hilton spent time as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at OC during the 2010s and worked this past fall as an assistant coach at Mid-America Christian.

The annual Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association All-State 6A games are scheduled for June 9 at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa.
