ADDISON, Ill. (April 22, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian's first trip to the Intercollegiate Team Championship ended Friday morning as the Eagles dropped a losers' bracket thriller against St. Francis (Ill.) four games to three at Stardust Bowl.
OC, seeded 14th in the double-elimination bracket, fell into the losers' bracket after falling 4-2 against third-seeded Wichita State on Thursday night. The Eagles had to be back for a 7:45 a.m. elimination match Friday against St. Francis.
The match went back and forth and wasn't decided until the final frame of the final Baker game, with St. Francis prevailing 192-189 thanks to a strike and spare in the 10th frame. Over the match, St. Francis outscored the Eagles 1,389-1,289.
One OC bowler, freshman
C.J. Petrin of Chattanooga, Tenn., will compete Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the semifinals of the Intercollegiate Singles Championship, also at Stardust Bowl. The session will be filmed for a future television broadcast.
