INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 19, 2022) –
Trey Maloy and
C.J. Petrin led Oklahoma Christian in individual play on Saturday on the opening day of the Hoosier Classic at Western Bowl.
Maloy, a sophomore from Guthrie, Okla., stood 42nd in the 578-man field after six games in the Tier I event with a score of 1,231, which included individual games of 247, 233 and 214. Petrin, a freshman from Chattanooga, Tenn., was 51st at 1,217. He rolled games of 209, 240 and 200.
The Eagles combined for five other games of 200 or better.
Jake DeVoe, a freshman from Richardson, Texas, rolled three of them, posting scores of 223, 267 and 203.
Mitchell Leonard, a sophomore from St. Charles, Ill. (216) and
Israel Reveles, a freshman from Aguascalientes, Mexico (223) each had one.
OC stood 20th among the 78 teams with an overall score of 5,916. Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) led with a score of 6,237.
The teams will roll 15 Baker games on Sunday before the top eight squads advance into the bracket-play portion of the tournament to determine the champion. Tennessee Wesleyan, with a score of 6,070, is in eighth place entering Sunday, 154 pins ahead of OC.
