Oklahoma City, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian continued its home stand in a rivalry matchup against Southern Nazarene in the Nest on Thursday night.
Southern Nazarene (6-2) started quickly by jumping to a 13-2 lead before Oklahoma Christian (4-6) connected on six of their next eight to cut the lead to seven at 24-17. The Eagles' run was fueled by
Moun'Tae Edmundson, with 5 points during the run.
The Crimson Storm went on to finish the half on a 19-7 run and took a 43-24 lead into the break. Oklahoma Christian was led in the half by
Antonio Gordon and
Karlyn Kenner with six points each.
OC came out swinging in the second half, going on a 19-8 run to start the half and cut SNU's lead down to eight at 51-43 with 13 minutes left in the game.
Antonio Gordon hit two threes during the run and scored 8 points total to spark the Eagles.
SNU's second-half run came after some adversity at the free throw line for the Eagles, leading to a 5-0 run and a momentum swing for SNU, and a 77-61 win.
Oklahoma Christian will be back in the Nest on Monday at a recently changed game time of 4 p.m. against Arkansas Fort Smith. The Eagles will then have a ten-day break for Christmas (Merry Christmas to those reading this far) before returning home for a matchup on December 30th against Texas Tyler.
