Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Eagles hosted Arkansas-Fort Smith for a Monday afternoon Lone Star conference matchup in the Nest.
The Lions jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, before a timeout by
Kendre Talley, led to the Eagles matching the run with eight of their own, capped off by an emphatic dunk from
Nyk Madison.
After trading buckets, UAFS responded with another run to take a 39-26 lead into the break.
Moun'Tae Edmundson led OC in the first half with 10 points and chipped in 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Oklahoma Christian did not go down easily, as the Fort Smith lead grew to 45-26 just three minutes into the second half. The Eagles scrapped their way back to down nine, 45-36, with twelve minutes left in the game.
Drew Tennial and
Antonio Gordon fueled OC's comeback effort with five and four points, respectively.
OC continued to battle, staying within striking distance before UAFS held on to the 63-53 win.
The Eagles will take a break for Christmas before returning to the Nest at 7:30 on December 30th to take on Texas-Tyler.
