Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian, playing in their second of three home games this week in the Nest, rallied from down two sets to defeat Cameron. 3-2.
Cameron came into the match riding a fourteen-game losing streak but looked like a team on anything but that in set one as they won the set 25-17. In set two, the teams traded leads, with OC taking the largest lead of the set at 20-17. But Cameron rallied to win the set 26-24 and took a 2-0 match lead.
But the Eagles surged back, and early in the third set Olivia Hessman had a kill that set the tone for the rest of the match. Hessman went on with Cobbah to lead the Eagles in the third set, and they won the set, 25-23.
Oklahoma Christian dominated set four taking a 12-3 lead quickly and winning the set 25-13. And in the fifth set, OC never trailed, finishing the set on a 7-0 run.
The Eagles had nine aces on the night, led by Hannah Rouse with 5. Hessman set an OC career-high with 34 assists, and Cobbah had a team-high in kills with 14.
OC is back in the Nest tomorrow at 2 p.m. to take on No. 12 West Texas A&M.
