NORMAN, Okla. (July 30, 2021) – For the second straight year, Oklahoma Christian golfers
Alex Motes and
Andres Brictson earned recognition on the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar list for NCAA Division II, which was announced Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
To qualify for the honor, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically or athletically, play in at least 40 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average of 78.0 or better and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his school.
Motes, a junior Criminal Justice major from Sulphur Springs, Texas, posted a stroke average of 74.44 over 25 rounds this season, while Brictson, a junior Finance major from Merida, Mexico, had a stroke average of 72.63 over 24 rounds.
Motes and Brictson each received the honor for a second straight season. They became the fifth and sixth players in program history to earn the honor twice, joining Vilhelm Bogstrand (2012-13), Logan Herbst (2012-13), Trey Payne (2014-15) and Juan Pallach (2018-19).
