OKLAHOMA CITY (June 21, 2021) – Five members of Oklahoma Christian's men's bowling team earned Collegiate Scholar Athlete honors for the 2020-21 season from the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association.
To qualify for the award, a bowler must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. It's the first time in the OC program's three seasons of existence that as many as five men have received the honor.
Junior Marketing/Management major
Josh Imhoff of Cabot, Ark., earned the NCBCA award for a second straight year. Imhoff earlier was named as a first-team All-America selection by the NCBCA after qualifying for the Intercollegiate Singles Championship, becoming the first OC bowler to do so.
Other OC bowlers named to the Collegiate Scholar Athlete list were freshman Electrical Engineering major
Dalton Smith of Blanchard, freshman Accounting major
James Crenshaw of Venus, Texas, junior Marketing/Management major
Jonathan Beyer of Dallas and freshman Computer Science/Gaming and Animation major
Nigel Baldwin of Prosper, Texas.
"I could not be more proud of these athletes," OC coach
James Hayes said. "It is not easy balancing academics and athletics and these athletes went above and beyond in doing so."
