NORMAN, Okla. (April 30, 2021) – Despite winning the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament title last week, Oklahoma Christian still fell a spot in the latest Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, which was released Friday.
OC was No. 16 in the final poll issued before the start next week of the NCAA Division II postseason. The Eagles will be the top seed from the South Central Region in the South Central-West Super Regional, which is set for May 6-8 at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.
This season, the Eagles have won five tournaments, finished second in two others and posted an 83-5-2 record against Division II competition. Only one Division II team (Central Missouri) has beaten the Eagles since the start of October.
The Eagles won the school's first LSC title in any sport last week, taking the league crown after a three-day tournament at Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington, Texas.
The top 10 consisted of unanimous No. 1 West Florida, Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.), Lynn (Fla.), Arkansas Tech, South Carolina-Aiken, Central Missouri, Barry (Fla.), Lee (Tenn.), Young Harris (Ga.) and Georgia Southwestern. OC has a 2-0 head-to-head record this season against Arkansas Tech.
The only other South Central Region team ranked in the poll was No. 17 Colorado State-Pueblo. No West Region teams were ranked.
