ARLINGTON, Texas (March 31, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian kept alive its perfect record of qualifying for collegiate bowling's postseason on Wednesday when the Eagles were named to the field for an Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional Qualifier.
OC was one of 19 men's teams assigned to the ITC sectional event that will be played from April 16-18 at USA Bowl in Dallas. The Dallas site is one of four in the U.S. that will host Sectional events.
The Eagles just missed earning a top-24 national seed but at No. 28, they will be the seventh-highest-seeded team in the field in Dallas. Teams seeded above OC will be No. 4 Wichita State, No. 6 Newman (Kan.), No. 14 Lindenwood (Mo.), No. 16 Midland (Iowa), No. 20 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) and No. 23 Arizona State.
Also in the field will be No. 30 Kansas Wesleyan, No. 31 Iowa Central Community College, No. 48 West Texas A&M, No. 52 Spring Hill (Ala.), No. 55 Iowa Western Community College, No. 59 Central Missouri, No. 60 Drury (Mo.), No. 62 Texas-San Antonio, No. 68 Barton (Kan.) Community College, No. 69 Campbellsville (Ky.), No. 75 Morningside (Iowa) and No. 79 Houston.
The first day of the event will be the Intercollegiate Singles Championship Sectional Qualifier – to determine individual qualifiers for the national event – with the final two days serving as the ITC Sectional Qualifier.
The top four men's and top four women's teams from each sectional will advance to the ITC, which will be held May 5-8 at the Spectrum Entertainment Complex in Wyoming, Mich.
"We are excited to be heading back to Dallas for sectionals," OC coach
James Hayes said "I feel our team can compete strongly in the field. After having sectionals cancelled last year, I know the athletes are excited to be back in the postseason."
OC has qualified for club bowling's postseason in every year of its three-season existence.
