SHAWNEE, Okla. (March 27, 2021) –
Josh Imhoff posted his fifth career individual tournament title and the second of the season to lead Oklahoma Christian on Saturday in the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Circuit III tournament at Firelake Bowl.
Imhoff, a junior from Cabot, Ark., won in impressive fashion, rolling games of 238, 227, 227 and 290 for an overall score of 982, 45 pins more than the runner-up, Nicholas Sommer of Wichita State. Imhoff also earned an all-tournament honor for the ninth time in his collegiate career.
He now has rolled three games of 290 or higher during his OC career. His best career game, a perfect 300, came during his first championship this season, the Hammer Lions Classic in St. Charles, Mo.
Another OC bowler finished just one spot outside the all-tournament team – junior
Sam Butler of Texarkana, Texas, who finished sixth at 896 after rolling games of 210, 183, 224 and 279.
Two other Eagles rolled all four games in team play – sophomore
Mitchell Leonard of St. Charles, Ill., who finished 16th with games of 224 and 225, and freshman
Dalton Smith of Blanchard, Okla., who placed 19th with games of 205 and 228.
OC freshman
Nathan Curnutt of Cocoa, Fla., contributed a 200 game in game two.
Through the four team games and 10 Baker games, the Eagles posted an overall score of 5,949, good for fifth place in the 11-team field. Wichita State won the team title with a score of 6,625.
The Eagles will compete in the SWIBC IV tournament on Sunday, also at Firelake Bowl.
