OKLAHOMA CITY (March 20, 2021) – No. 10 West Texas A&M scored 16 runs over the final four innings to pull away for an 18-2 win over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field.
With the win, West Texas A&M (17-3, 14-2 Lone Star Conference) clinched the win in the three-game series against OC (8-8, 7-7), which will end with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.
Kevin Collyar's two-run homer in the third inning off West Texas A&M starter Zach Dixon (3-1) scored himself and
Drew Wright (who had been hit by a pitch) and pulled OC even at 2-2. But the Eagles managed only two more hits the rest of the way, both in the eighth inning, by which time the result had effectively been decided.
The Buffaloes scored four runs in the fifth inning to take the lead, then added two runs each in the sixth and seventh before an eight-run eighth inning. Keone Givens and Kyle Moos each homered and drove in four runs for West Texas A&M.
OC starter
Cole Lee (1-1) took the pitching loss.
