Imhoff named as Eagle of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 19, 2021) – A third-place individual finish in one of collegiate bowling's deepest tournaments earned Oklahoma Christian's Josh Imhoff recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.

Imhoff, a junior from Cabot, Ark., who earned All-America first-team honors in 2020-21, made the all-tournament team in the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. The Tier I event held Saturday and Sunday had a 42-team field that included many of the sport's top teams.

In his nine games, Imhoff posted a cumulative score of 1,996. He rolled a 200 or better in seven of his games, topped by a 268 in the last of his six games on Saturday. He was fourth at that point, then improved a spot in the 315-team field during his final three games on Sunday. He finished the tournament with a 246.

The all-tournament honor was the 11th of Imhoff's collegiate career at OC, but the first in a Tier I tournament. His success propelled the Eagles into the No. 7 seed in the match-play portion of the tournament.

Others considered for Eagle of the Week included:

-- Kyle Henke, Ultimate: In the USA Ultimate Division III College Championships in Norco, Calif, Henke, a graduate student from Austin, Texas, had a combined 13 goals as the Eagles beat sixth-seeded Whitman (Wash.) 15-11 in the quarterfinals and top-seeded Richmond (Va.) 14-11 in the semifinals.

-- Morgan Pelkie, women's bowling: Pelkie, a sophomore from Sarnia, Ontario, posted a 12th-place individual finish in the Tier I Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, helping the Eagles advance to the match-play semifinals.

-- Moun'Tae Edmundson, men's basketball: Edmundson, a sophomore guard from Oklahoma City, scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds to go with four assists as OC beat York (Neb.) 75-60 on Thursday.

-- Brooklin Bain, women's basketball: Bain, a freshman forward from Comanche, recorded a double-double – her fifth of the season – with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with three assists in a 72-63 loss at Texas-Tyler on Saturday.

The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
