OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 25, 2021) – With a men's golf team regarded among the best in NCAA Division II, Oklahoma Christian coach
David Lynn has set a challenging spring 2021 schedule for the Eagles.
OC, ranked No. 20 in the pre-spring Division II coaches' poll, will start its spring schedule in the Houston Classic, which will be hosted by Southern Nazarene at The Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, on Feb. 8-9.
After nearly a month's break, the Eagles then will play three tournaments in as many weeks, starting with the Las Vegas Desert Classic. The annual event, hosted by Missouri-St. Louis, will be played at Royal Links Golf Club on March 7-8. OC will play close to home in its next event, the Broncho Invitational, hosted by Central Oklahoma at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond on March 15-16.
On March 22-23, OC is scheduled to play in Texas A&M-Commerce's Lion Invitational at Trophy Club Country Club in Trophy Club, Texas. The Eagles' final regular-season tournament will be April 5-6 when they're scheduled to play in the Dallas Baptist Patriot Invitational in Denton, Texas, at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch.
The Lone Star Conference Championship tournament is set for April 19-21 at Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington, Texas. OC is hoping to make its debut in the event, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Eagles won the last conference tournament in which they played, the Heartland Conference Championship event in 2019.
Should OC qualify for the NCAA postseason, the Division II South Central-West Super Regional Championship will be May 6-8 at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash. The NCAA Division II Championship tournament is set for May 17-21 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at PGA National Resort.
