OKLAHOMA CITY (July 6, 2020) – Ten bowlers have signed to compete on Oklahoma Christian's men's bowling team for the 2020-21 season, OC coach
James Hayes said Monday.
The newcomers will be
Nigel Baldwin,
Wyatt Baumgartner,
Alex Brown,
K.C. Calbert,
Josh Camper,
James Crenshaw,
Nathan Curnutt,
Gabe Jeter,
Trey Maloy and
Dalton Smith.
Baldwin, from Prosper, Texas, is the younger brother of current OC track and field athlete Autumn Baldwin. A graduate of NorthStar Academy, he competed in high school bowling for two years.
Baumgartner, from Derby, Kan., is a junior transfer from Cowley County (Kan.). He placed sixth in the doubles portion of the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships in 2019 and led Cowley County that season with a scoring average of 180.51 over 57 games. He has rolled a 300 game with a high series of 768. He previously attended Derby High School.
Brown, from Bethel Acres, attended Bethel High School.
Calbert, from Sallisaw, attended Sallisaw High School. He once bowled a 745 series with a high game of 279 in a high school tournament. He also competed in football and golf for the Black Diamonds.
Camper, from Piedmont, attended Piedmont High School, earning All-State honors as a junior and senior. He won an all-events handicap competition for his age division in 2018 at the Oklahoma state tournament.
Crenshaw, from Waxahachie, Texas, attended Waxahachie Global High School. He was a four-year starter and team captain for his high school team, with a high average of 210. He qualified for a regional tournament each year and for the Texas prep state tournament as a freshman.
Curnutt, from Cocoa, Fla., attended Cocoa High School. He finished in the top 10 in the Cape Coast Conference and in district competition three times, receiving most valuable player recognition for the 2018-19 season. He has rolled two 300 games and has an average of 210.
Jeter, from Tulsa, attended Bishop Kelley High School. He played for the Comets for four seasons, serving as the team captain since his sophomore season and earned All-Region honors as a senior. He has a house average of 210.
Maloy, from Guthrie, is a sophomore transfer from Newman (Kan.) who attended Mount St. Mary High School in Oklahoma City, where he twice earned All-State prep honors and was a four-time All-Region honoree. As a freshman at Newman, he posted a scoring average of 178.17 over 30 games, including 189.8 in Tier I competition. He has recorded three career 299 games and a high series of 784. He also played baseball in high school.
Smith, from Blanchard, attended Blanchard High School. In 2020, he won the Oklahoma High School Bowling Scholarship Tournament and the Roll for Gold Tournament and was the runner-up in both the all-events handicap and scratch divisions at the Oklahoma Youth State Championship. He won the title in the High School Doubles Tournament in 2019 and also posted top-five finishes in more than a dozen other youth tournaments the past three years. He has a current house average of 209 and has posted a high game of 279 and high series of 756.
The 10 newcomers will join eight returnees – juniors

The Eagles will open their season Oct. 10 in the SWIBC I tournament in Fort Worth, Texas.
