Alex Motes and
Trevor Norby both posted top-15 finishes in the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship, which ended Wednesday at The Territory Golf and Country Club.
Motes, a junior from Sulphur Springs, Texas, posted a 1-under-par 71 that included six birdies and closed the 54-hole tournament at 3-under 213, tied for 12th in what originally was a 98-man field. Motes and Norby were among the 30 players who made the cut after the second round on Tuesday.
Norby, a senior from Carlsbad, Calif., fired a 75 on Wednesday and ended the tournament at 1-under 215, tied for 14th. Norby, a first-team NCAA Division II All-America pick after the 2019-20 season, won the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational at The Territory last October.
Oklahoma State sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen finished at 14-under and won the tournament by three shots over Carson Tewell, who has transferred to Central Oklahoma from Stetson for the 2020-21 season.
