NORMAN, Okla. (May 3, 2019) – Oklahoma Christian moved up a spot to No. 12 in the final regular-season Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, release Friday.
OC is coming off its fifth tournament win of the 2018-19 season, a dramatic one-shot decision over No. 9-ranked St. Mary's (Texas) in the Heartland Conference Championship last month. That win vaulted coach
David Lynn's Eagles to No. 1 in the NCAA's South Central Region ranking, but they remained behind St. Mary's in the coaches' poll.
OC, St. Mary's and six other ranked teams will be in the field next week for the Division II South Central-West Super Regional at The Ledges Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
The top 10 in the coaches' poll were Barry (Fla.) – the unanimous No. 1 – followed by Lynn (Fla.), West Florida, Western Washington, Chico State (Calif.) and Nova Southeastern (Fla.) tied for fifth, Florida Tech, Florida Southern, St. Mary's and Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.).
Top-25 teams that will be in the South Central-West Super Regional will be Western Washington, Chico State, St. Mary's, OC, No. 13 Sonoma State (Calif.), No. 19 Simon Fraser (British Columbia), No. 20 California State-Monterey Bay and No. 23 Midwestern State (Texas).
