OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 27, 2019) – His third career tournament win earned Oklahoma Christian golfer
Trevor Norby recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.
Norby, a senior from Carlsbad, Calif., emerged from a field of 100 golfers to win the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational, played Monday and Tuesday at The Territory Golf Club near Duncan.
He posted an even-par 72 on Monday before firing a 3-under 69 (including an eagle) in Tuesday's final round. His overall score of 141 was one shot better than five players in a tournament that included four top-25 teams in No. 4 Arkansas Tech, No. 7 OC, No. 9 St. Mary's (Texas) and No. 21 Midwestern State (Texas).
Norby helped OC post its third win of the 2019-29 season, beating St. Mary's by 11 shots. The Eagles didn't lose to any other NCAA Division II team during the fall campaign.
The Lone Star Conference earlier named Norby as its player of the week.
The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
