OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 13, 2019) – Taking a second individual tournament title while leading his team to its first championship earned
Josh Imhoff recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.
Imhoff, a freshman from Cabot, Ark., led the Eagles to a sweep of the individual and team titles on Saturday in the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Circuit (SWIBC) V tournament at AMF Richardson in Richardson, Texas.
He rolled five individual games of 212 or higher to finish with an overall score of 1,222, a 244.4 per-game average, 156 pins ahead of the runner-up. Imhoff rolled a school-record 277 in his second game. It was Imhoff's second individual tournament win, as he also finished atop the SWIBC I tournament, at Western Lanes in Amarillo, Texas, on Sept. 22.
Imhoff joined teammate
Sam Butler on the SWIBC V all-tournament team as the Eagles won the first-year program's first tournament title with a score of 8.085, 79 pins ahead of runner-up Louisiana State.
On Sunday, Imhoff placed third individually, making the all-tournament team in the SWIBC VI tournament at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas. He posted a score of 1,481 over seven games, including a high game of 259. Of the 12 games Imhoff bowled over the weekend, he scored 212 or better in 10 of them.
It's the second time this academic year that Imhoff was named as the Eagle of the Week, as he also received the honor after winning the SWIBC I title.
