Box Score WICHITA, Kan. (Oct. 27, 2018) – Oklahoma Christian wrapped up its 2018 women's soccer season on Saturday afternoon, falling 8-0 to Newman (Kan.) at Wilkins Field.
Grace Linton had a hat trick and added an assist for Newman (12-3-3, 8-3-3 Heartland Conference), which wrapped up third place in the league standings with the win. The Jets posted a 25-6 advantage in shots over OC (1-16, 1-13).
Oby Okeke and
Jasmine Chacon-Diaz each had two shots for the Lady Eagles, while
Cameryn Covington and
Denise Bennett had one each.
Josie Knox started her second straight game in goal for OC and made two saves in 51 minutes before giving way to
Sarah Albert. Albert, usually a forward, made her first appearance at goalkeeper and made one save in 39 minutes.
Newman's starting goalkeeper, Ashley Sweetnam, made four saves in 66 minutes, with Elena Garcia going the rest of the way in goal for the Jets.
