EDMOND, Okla. - Adi Knocke scored her first goal of the season at the perfect moment, tying the match with just over a minute left in regulation. No. 4 seed Oklahoma Christian then held No. 5 seed UT Tyler scoreless through 20 minutes of overtime before falling 6-5 in a seven-round penalty kick shootout in the Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals Monday at Eagle Soccer Field.
The match goes in the record books as a 1-1 draw. OC finishes at 11-4-4. UT Tyler advances to Thursday's semifinal against DBU.
Knocke came out of medical retirement to rejoin the Eagles this season. Down 1-0 late, she delivered OC's biggest moment of the day. A natural left-footer, Knocke came off the bench and finished with her right foot into the bottom left corner at 88:57 to send the match to extra time.
From there, the Eagles locked down. Breanna Wooten played all 110 minutes in goal. Zoe Walker, Jaycie Daggs and Caid Jefferson also went the distance, and OC kept the Patriots off the board through both overtime periods.
The shootout was just as tense. Jenna Munson and Jordan Tanges opened with makes, and Knocke converted again in the fourth round. With the season on the line in the fifth, Daggs buried her kick to tie it and force sudden death. Rylan McIntyre answered in the sixth to keep OC alive before UT Tyler converted in the seventh to close it out.
UT Tyler's Ella Anderson scored the opening goal in the 68th minute.
