Milner (11 saves) shines, but Lady Eagles lose at Rogers State

Sophomore goalkeeper Addison Milner had 11 saves against Rogers State.
Box Score CLAREMORE, Okla. (Sept. 28, 2017) – Rogers State scored a pair of first-half goals and the Hillcats cruised after that, beating Oklahoma Christian 2-0 on Thursday night in a women's soccer game at Soldier Field.

OC (1-8, 0-6 Heartland Conference) picked up a career-high 11 saves from goalkeeper Addison Milner. The sophomore from Corinth, Texas, matched the Heartland's top single-game mark for saves this season and recorded her third double-digit save performance of 2017.

Milner has four of the Heartland's five highest single-game save totals this season and leads the conference with 68.

Rogers State (7-2, 4-2) jumped ahead in the sixth minute, when Daisy Cardona headed in a cross from the right side by Maggie Brown. The Hillcats made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute, as Milner saved an initial shot by Janell Hernandez but couldn't stop Hannah Mushisky from scoring off the rebound.

The Hillcats also hit the post once and the crossbar once as they outshot OC 24-8.

OC's best scoring chance came in the 12th minute. Lauren Parker sent a corner kick into the penalty area, where Myah Buhler's header went tantalizingly over the crossbar.

Rogers State goalkeeper Taylor Sargent made five saves.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Saturday at 1 p.m., visiting Newman (Kan.). That will be the fourth of six straight road games for OC.
