Box Score ALVA, Okla. (Sept. 19, 2015) – Sometimes in soccer, you can control the game and still lose, and the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles found themselves in that predicament on Saturday afternoon.

OC outshot Northwestern Oklahoma State by a healthy 19-11 margin, but the Rangers ended up a 1-0 winner at the Alva Rec Complex on the strength of a goal in the 49th minute by Arlet Polack.

OC (1-3-1) pressed the action throughout, forcing Northwestern goalkeeper Briana Legaspi to make 13 saves. Her OC counterpart, Carina Schanz, kept Northwestern (1-2-1) in check until early in the second half, when Polack chipped the ball over Schanz from about seven yards out to put the Rangers ahead.

The Lady Eagles had a chance to tie the game less than a minute later when they were awarded a penalty kick after a Northwestern foul in the penalty box, but Legaspi saved Rubi Villegas Aguilar's shot.

Schanz finished with seven saves for OC, which suffered its second straight 1-0 loss, having fallen by the same score on Thursday against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

After a busy stretch of three games in five days, the Lady Eagles will be off until next Friday, when they will host Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
