Box Score SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 17, 2015) – St. Mary's (Texas) scored three goals in a seven-minute span during the first half, breaking open a tight game en route to a 6-1 win over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
St. Mary's (9-3, 4-1 Heartland Conference) remained second in the league standings, while OC (4-7-2, 1-4-1) missed an opportunity to move into contention for one of four spots in the league's four-team postseason tournament.
The Rattlers, who outshot OC 20-8, took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on a goal by Karly Moe. OC kept it a one-goal game until the 35th minute, when St. Mary's began its scoring spree on a goal by Rachel Gurinsky. Gurinsky added another goal about 2½ minutes later and Roxy Cruz Santory made it 4-0 in the 42nd minute on a shot from about 32 yards out.
Lauren Peck and Heather Dawson added second-half goals for St. Mary's. The Lady Eagles avoided the shutout in the 86th minute, with

OC's starting goalkeeper,
Carina Schanz, made two saves before giving way to sophomore
Carly Caplinger at halftime. Caplinger, seeing her first action of the season, made three saves. St. Mary's goalkeeper Alyssa Taramona was credited with four saves.
The Lady Eagles' final three regular-season games will be at home, starting on Tuesday against nonconference foe Texas Woman's. OC will host Rogers State next Saturday and Newman (Kan.) on Oct. 31 to close the campaign.
