OC falls at UCO

The 25th-ranked Oklahoma Christian University men's basketball team dropped a high-scoring battle at crosstown rival Central Oklahoma 104-87 Tuesday night. The loss was the third of the season for the Eagles and second to the Bronchos after a 63-62 UCO win on Nov. 18 at OC. 

OC guard Charles Baldwin recorded his second 30-point scoring effort of the season with 32 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and 5-of-10 shooting from three-point range. The senior from Houston drained 34 points against Union University (Tenn.) in an 89-82 OC win on Nov. 17. 

The Eagles led much of the first half and built the advantage to its largest at 16 with 7:28 left in the stanza before leading 56-51 at the halftime buzzer. OC shot 58 percent (15-26) from the field in the opening half while converting 20-of-24 free throws (83 percent). 

The Bronchos and Eagles exchanged five leads in the opening minutes of the second half. With the score tied 74-74, UCO went on a 10-1 run beginning at the 10:39 mark and outscored OC 53-31 in the second half to earn the win. 

Baldwin's 32 points led the Eagles while Keith Harris scored 15 and Patrick Grewe added 14. Senior John Nottley chipped in nine points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. UCO guard Sam Belt led all scorers with 36. 

The Eagles (5-3) next take the floor on Dec. 2 against Park University at 2 p.m. in Parkville, Mo. OC holds a 14-2 series advantage vs. Park.
