The 25th-ranked Oklahoma Christian University men's basketball team dropped its first game of the season 63-62 to crosstown foe Central Oklahoma here Saturday night.

UCO's Brian Walker intercepted an OC inbounds pass and scored with five seconds left in the game to lift the Bronchos to the victory.

UCO led the majority of the first half and built the lead to as many as 11 before OC clawed back and cut the lead to 31-26 at the half.

The Eagles took their first lead of the second half when Kyle Tefft drained a three-pointer with 12:07 left to put OC ahead 37-35.

The Eagles and Bronchos traded seven leads in the final eight minutes. OC built the lead to 48-44 when Marlon Word converted an old-fashioned three-point play off a drive with 8:05 on the clock.

In the final minute, Word stole the ball and was fouled on the other end. He converted 1-of-2 free throws to give OC a 61-59 lead.

UCO's Anthony Brown and OC's Keith Harris each made 1-of-2 free throws in the next 20 seconds to make the score 62-60.

Brown then was fouled on a spinning shot in the lane and once again made 1-of-2 charity tosses. Walker then intercepted Kyle Tefft's inbounds pass intended for Charles Baldwin and scored to give the Bronchos a 63-62 lead. Baldwin's desperation three-pointer missed long as time expired.

Harris led the Eagles with 18 points and six assists while Baldwin added 13. UCO's Brown led all scorers with 25 points. Walker chipped in 17.

The Eagles fall to 4-1 on the season entering next weekend's Oklahoma Baptist Classic in Shawnee. They play Kansas Wesleyan Friday and Central Baptist (Ark.) on Saturday. Both games will tip at 6 p.m.
