Lady Eagles explode to 7-1 victory

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Oct. 9, 2007) – Stephanie Duncan earned her first career hat trick Tuesday night as the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles routed Science & Arts (Okla.) 7-1.

OC's scoring explosion also featured the 50th career goal by senior Kristin Brown. She is now four away from Piper Coalson's school record of 54.

Duncan scored two first-half goals – the second off an assist from Heather Spencer – to give the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead. Amy Renault poked in a Brittany Jay pass in the 41st minute to slice OC's advantage to 2-1 at halftime.

The Lady Eagles broke open the game after intermission with three goals in a six-minute span. A long Emma Cole service found Taryn Caylor-Kingery wide open on the left side for a 3-1 OC lead in the 61st minute.

Five minutes later, Brown scored on a penalty kick after an USAO hand ball. Duncan then capped her hat trick with a goal off of a Spencer assist in the 67th minute.

Spencer again assisted on a late Jill Lintner goal that made it 6-1. Mackenzie McMahon rounded out the scoring with a goal in the 81st minute off a Lintner assist.

Oklahoma Christian outshot USAO 16-5 as they improved to 2-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 4-7-1 overall. The Lady Drovers fell to 2-3 in the SAC and 5-5-1 overall.
