Blanking Southern Nazarene University 2-0, Friday (Oct. 28), the Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinal round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Soccer playoff.
OC freshman Jansen Graves scored two second half goals to defeat SNU and redeem a regular season loss to the Crimson Storm.
After being outshot 14-5 in the first half the Lady Eagles did a turnabout to control action during the second half.
Graves scored the Lady Eagles first goal after taking a pass from Kristin Brown, dribbling down right center before shooting back to her left into the far side of the net. The second goal of the season for the Choctaw freshman came in the 52nd minute of play.
Graves' second goal came with 5:33 left in the game. Senior Lindsey Motley dribble in from the right side and launched a shot which was deflected by SNU goalkeeper Tiffany Bostic. Graves, making a run from the left side, controlled and kicked the ball in for the goal.
The win upped the Lady Eagles to 9-10 on the season. SNU finished its season 6-10-1. OC will play Northwestern in Alva, Okla. at 3 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 1).
