Upsetting top seeded Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a 2-1 double overtime victory, the Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles move into the finals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Soccer Playoffs.
The Lady Eagles will meet Oklahoma City University, who defeated John Brown University 3-0 in the other semifinal matchup. The finals will be played at OCU Wednesday (Nov. 3) at 2 p.m.
In yesterday's action, OC and NWOK played a scoreless first half before the Lady Eagles scored four minutes into the final period.
Freshman Jansen Graves played off an assist from another freshman, Kristin Brown, and scored OC's first goal.
Nursing the 1-0 lead, the Lady Eagles led until the 89th minute of play when the Lady Rangers Elisha Hall pushed across a goal to send the game into overtime.
Neither team scored in the first overtime but in the 106th minute Brown kicked in the game winner on a cleared ball by the lady Ranger goalkeeper. Brown controlled the ball and rolled it in for the score.
OC, now 10-10, advances to the finals and the Lady Rangers close their season with a 15-2-2 record.
