SHAWNEE, Okla. (Oct. 13, 2007) – Oklahoma Christian shut out St. Gregory's 3-0 Saturday to improve to 5-8-1 on the season. The Lady Eagles are 3-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The shutout was OC's third of the season. Senior Rachel Antrikin, playing in goal for just the second time in her career, combined with Jacqueline Kinch in the effort.
With 15:37 left until halftime, sophomore Heather Spencer got OC going with a goal off an assist by Taryn Caylor-Kingery to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
OC outshot SGU 6-to-3 in the first half, taking the 1-0 lead to the break.
Stephanie Duncan extended OC's lead to 2-0 with 32:15 left in the second half. The score was the sophomore's sixth of the season, tying her for the team lead with Kristin Brown.
Caylor-Kingery upped the score to 3-0 17 minutes later with a score assisted by Duncan.
For the game, the Lady Eagles outshot the Lady Cavaliers 11-to-3.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 16 vs. SAC rival Oklahoma Baptist. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. before the men's game at 8 p.m.
