The Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles defeated the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 2-1 here Sept. 13.
A strong second half effort by the Lady Eagles evened their record at 3-3 and left USAO at 2-2-1. Sophomore Kristin Brown scored both goals for the Lady Eagles in the non-conference match up between the two schools.
After trailing at halftime 1-0, OC sophomore Taryn Caylor was fouled in the box and OC was awarded a penalty kick at 26:38. Brown took the kick for OC and planted it deep in the left corner of the net to tie the game at 1-1.
Four minutes later, Brown scored the second goal, accepting a pass from sophomore Meagan Pless and kicking it 15 yards for what proved to be the winning score at 22:42.
With 1:19 left to play, the Lady Eagles rejected a USAO free kick outside the box and goalkeeper Lisa Jorgensen came up with a goal-preventing save.
Oklahoma Christian will host Northwood University (Texas) on September 20.
