OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Sept. 24, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women's team underwent their first loss of the season in Thursday night's match against the University of Central Oklahoma. OC fell 1-0 against the NCAA division II school.
The first half of the game started with both teams quick to battle for the ball. Nearly midway through the first half Oklahoma Christian took a hit after UCO's Katelyn Cropp scored off of a cross to make the score 1-0. Despite the Lady Eagles' efforts to respond, they were unable to answer before the first half expired.
The second half of the game proved to remain scoreless in spite of many vigorous attacks on goal. OC's goalkeeper, Allie Cofer, made several great saves to shut out the Lady Bronchos for the second half, although the Lady Eagles were unable to tie the game before time ran out.
The Oklahoma Christian women will begin conference play on Tuesday Sept. 29 in a double header with the men's team against the University of Science and Arts that begins at 5:00 p.m. at the OC soccer field.
