OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 27, 2011) – Oklahoma Christian's second game against a ranked women's soccer foe went about like the first.
No. 17-ranked Oklahoma City University scored four times in the first 27 minutes and cruised to a 5-0 win over the Lady Eagles on Tuesday at Stars Field.
OCU (6-1, 1-0 Sooner Athletic Conference) outshot Oklahoma Christian (3-5, 0-1) by a 21-5 count and never let the Lady Eagles into the game. In OC's last game against a ranked team, the Lady Eagles lost 6-0 at Hastings (Neb.) on Sept. 20.
Sheridan Horner scored 43 seconds into the game for the Stars and, at the 12:39 mark, assisted on the first of Meghan McMahon's two goals. Blerta Rashica scored in the 17th minute and McMahon's second goal came at the 27-minute mark, making it 4-0.
Brenna Skillern scored in the 70th minute for the Stars to finish the scoring.
OC goalkeeper Kaitlyn Whitten made seven saves, while her OCU counterpart, Alissa Reed, had two saves.
