AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 13, 2012) – Rachel Murray and Mikayla Engel each posted a hat trick to lead No. 10-ranked St. Edward's to an 8-0 win over visiting Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon.
St. Edward's (13-1) outshot OC (1-10) 28-2 as the Hilltoppers extended their winning streak to four games.
Murray put St. Edward's ahead in the fourth minute and made it 2-0 in the 34th minute. Engle scored twice before halftime, in the 40th and 42nd minutes, and Emily Wright put the Hilltoppers up 5-0 in the final minute of the first half.
Murray and Engle finished off their hat tricks in the first 11 minutes of the second half and Valencia Mobley closed the scoring for St. Edward's in the 72nd minute.
OC goalkeeper Anna Walker made eight saves in 78 minutes while Lindsey Williams, who played the final 12 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles, was not credited with a save. Mackenzii Bieke had both of OC's shots, although neither was on goal.
None of the three goalkeepers used by St. Edward's – Danielle Licarione, Dominique Curran and Audrey McGinnis – recorded a save.
OC will close the regular season with five straight home games, starting Thursday against St. Mary's (Texas).
