A former college player at Harding (Ark.), Kara Johnson has worked with Oklahoma Christian's volleyball program since August 2020 and now serves as its director of volleyball operations.
Johnson played for Harding in 1989 and 1990 before transferring to Mississippi, where she finished her bachelor's degree in social work in 1991. In recent years, she has served as a coach for the Legacy and OKC Knights homeschool volleyball programs. She served as a volleyball coordinator for OKC Knights for six years and for the Trinity Volleyball Club for one year.
She spent one season as an assistant coach under former coach Barry Wheeler before moving into the operations role under current coach Jason Skoch.
Johnson is married to Craig Johnson, a math professor at OC, and they have four children – daughters Hannah, Sarah and Abigail and son Caleb.
