Steward (Stu) Bortey began working in August 2016 as an OC women’s soccer assistant coach, focusing on strength training.

Bortey, originally from Accra, Ghana, attended Midwest City High School in Oklahoma before his collegiate soccer career at Sterling (Kan.). He played three seasons at Sterling, making 10 starts for the Warriors. He also competed in throwing events for Sterling’s track and field teams.

He graduated from Sterling in May 2016 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science.
