Biography

General Business major … Intelligent, versatile player who’s grown up around athletics, as her father, Rick Nordyke, is a longtime high school softball and baseball coach … Made an immediate impact in the Lady Eagles’ lineup as both a pitcher and hitter … Was teammates in high school with fellow OC senior Sheridan (Bond) Fuller … 2018: Played in 57 games (57 starts), hitting .346 with 32 RBIs … In Heartland Conference stats, finished fourth in hitting, first in hits (64), 10th in RBIs and 11th in doubles (10) … Finished 14th in NCAA Division II stats in the “toughest to strike out” category, averaging only one strikeout every 46.3 at-bats (four strikeouts in 185 at-bats) … As a pitcher, made 28 appearances (nine starts), going 7-8 with three saves, a 3.42 ERA and 42 strikeouts and 32 walks in 88 innings … In Heartland Conference stats, finished 11th in wins and fourth in saves … All-Heartland Conference first-team selection … Named to the All-OSN Oklahoma Division II second-team Southeastern Oklahoma State 3-1 on Feb. 9, while going 1 of 3 with a run scored offensively … Later that day, doubled and drove in two runs in win over Washburn (Kan.)  … Went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in win over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Feb. 13 … On Feb. 25, went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in win over Lubbock Christian (Texas) … On March 1, went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in win … Went 3 for 3 with three RBIs – on a bases-loaded double – in 10-6 loss at Lubbock Christian (Texas) on April 14 … Picked up two pitching wins in the Heartland postseason tournament, striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings 3-2 win over Lubbock Christian (Texas) on May 3, then allowing only two runs in six innings in 4-2 win at St. Mary’s (Texas) on May 5 … Named to event’s all-tournament team … 2017: Played in 53 games (52 starts), hitting .311 with one home runs and 17 RBIs … As a pitcher, made 31 appearances (17 starts), going 8-7 with a 2.66 ERA and 88 strikeouts and 45 walks in 129 innings … Pitched four complete games … In Heartland Conference stats, finished seventh in sacrifice bunts (nine), seventh in ERA, fifth in opposing batting average (.235), 10th in innings pitched and ninth in strikeouts … In NCAA Division II, ranked No. 26 in the "toughest to strike out" category, as she fanned just five times in 164 at-bats, or once in every 32.8 at-bats … Named to the All-Heartland Conference second-team list as a utility player … Named as the Heartland pitcher of the week once … Named to All-Tournament team for the Heartland Conference Championship … Named as an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete … Made the Heartland Conference academic Honor Roll’s President’s List (fall semester) and Commissioner’s List (spring semester) …  Recipient of Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award …  Pitched OC’s season opener, allowing one run over five innings in 9-1 win over Emporia State (Kan.) on Feb. 3, while delivering a double and two RBIs at the plate … Threw another compete game two days later, going seven innings and allowing five hits with six strikeouts in a 5-3 win over Missouri Southern … Scattered three hits in an 8-0, five-inning road rout of Texas Woman’s on Feb. 15, a performance that earned her Heartland Conference pitcher-of-the-week honors for the first time in her career … Retired the first 16 batters, struck out seven and allowed only two  hits, but took the loss as OC fell 3-2 at Midwestern State (Texas) on Feb. 21 … On March 10 against Oklahoma Panhandle State, went 2-for-3 with a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored in a 9-1 win in the opener, then took to the circle in the second game and pitched a one-hitter with only one walk in a 10-0, five-inning win over the Aggies … The next day against OPSU, went 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored twice in a 10-1 win … Retired 16 straight batters to start the game and allowed only two hits in 6 1/3 innings in 3-2 win over Lubbock Christian (Texas) on April 7, give OC the series win … Went a season-high eight innings, allowing seven hits and three runs, to earn the decision as OC won 4-3 in nine innings at St. Edward’s (Texas) on April 12 … Also went 4-for-5 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored in that game … Allowed only four hits and two runs with a season-high nine strikeouts in 7-2 win at Rogers State on April 28 … Struck out eight in six innings and allowed only one run in 3-1 win over Texas A&M International on May 5 in the Heartland Conference Championship tournament, while adding a pair of hits at the plate … Was named to the All-Tournament team … 2016: Played in 50 games (46 starts), hitting .256 with two home runs and 10 RBIs … As a pitcher, went 2-10 with three saves, a 4.74 ERA, 49 strikeouts and 41 walks in 75 1/3 innings … Led team (and finished seventh in the Heartland Conference) with eight sacrifice bunts … Made the Heartland Conference academic Honor Roll’s Commissioner’s List (fall semester) and President’s List (spring semester) … Started in the circle in OC’s season-opening game, a 9-3 loss to Missouri Southern on Feb. 5, striking out six in five innings … Went 3-for-5 in 18-3 win over Emporia State (Kan.) on Feb. 6 … Picked up the save on Feb. 7 in 7-5 win over Missouri Southern … Hit the game-winning RBI double in the seventh inning, capping a 2-for-4 outing in 9-8 win over USAO  on Feb. 16, a game in which she picked up the pitching win after retiring the Drovers’ first 10 batters and struck out five … Went 2-for-3 with a RBI in 6-4 loss to Pittsburg State (Kan.) on March 1, and recorded season-high seven strikeouts in the circle while going the distance … Hit a solo home run and pitched 5 1/3 innings in 6-3 win over Texas A&M International on March 4 … Recorded save in 3-0 win over Newman (Kan.) on March 11, with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings … In 8-0 win over Eastern New Mexico on April 2, tossed a complete-game one-hitter and went 2-for-3 at the plate … Hit a 3-run homer in 10-0 win at Texas Woman’s on April 5 … Went 2-for-3 with an RBI in 5-2 win over Fort Hays State (Kan.) on April 12 … Four days later, recorded her third save of the season in 6-4 win over Rogers State … In 11-0 win at Oklahoma Panhandle State on April 23, went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a season-high four runs … 2015: Played in all 54 games (54 starts), hitting .296 with two home runs and 26 RBIs … Also had 10 doubles, a .414 slugging percentage and a .346 on-base percentage … Went 6-of-8 on stolen-base attempts … Made the Heartland Conference academic Honor Roll’s Commissioner’s List … In collegiate debut, went 1-for-3 in win over Mid-America Christian on Feb. 10 … In doubleheader split with No. 20 Central Oklahoma on March 3, went 5-for-6 with a home run, two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored … Had four RBIs (on a homer and a double) as OC won the opener 10-2 … In 13-0 win at Oklahoma Wesleyan on March 9, went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored … On March 20 in win over Texas-Permian Basin, went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI and a double … During a five-game hitting streak from March 24 to April 2, had four multi-hit games … On March 24 against Oklahoma Panhandle State, went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in an OC win … In doubleheader sweep of Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) on April 1, went 5-for-7 with four RBIs and four runs scored … After a 1-for-3 outing in loss to Rogers State on April 2, led OC to a win in the second game of the doubleheader, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and a pair of doubles … Went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles in win at Newman (Kan.) on April 25 … In NCCAA Central Region tournament opener against Crowley’s Ridge (Ark.) on May 7, went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in an OC win … Went 2-for-2 in win over Mississippi College in NCCAA Championship on May 14 and 2-for-4 later that day in loss to Simpson (Calif.) … As a pitcher, went 7-5 with a 3.98 ERA and 58 strikeouts and 37 walks in 75 2/3 innings … Threw six complete games … Made debut in the circle on Feb. 21 in a 5-4 loss to Texas Woman’s, throwing a complete game and giving up five earned runs … Picked up first win later that day, pitching an inning of relief in 8-7 win over Tarleton State (Texas) … Was a tough-luck 2-1 loser at Oklahoma Wesleyan on March 9, going the distance and striking out a season-high eight batters before giving up three hits (two of the fluke variety) in the seventh  inning … Picked up win in relief in 7-6 win over MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) on March 16 … Threw a complete game in a 10-4 win over Texas-Permian Basin on March 21 … Picked up wins in relief against Oklahoma Panhandle State (allowing one run in 4 1/3 innings) on March 23 and Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) (throwing 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball) on April 1 … Recorded complete-game win in 5-1 decision over Newman (Kan.) on April 25 … Tossed a three-hit shutout in an 8-0, five-inning win over Oklahoma Wesleyan on May 8 in the NCCAA Central Region tournament … Was a tough-luck 2-0 loser against Simpson (Calif.) in the NCCAA Championship winners’ bracket final on May 14, allowing only one earned run and striking out five while going the distance … Previous school: Attended Edmond North High School, where she helped the Huskies win the 2012 Class 6A title and reach the state quarterfinals in 2013 … During her high school career, hit .455 with 109 RBIs, two home runs, 36 doubles and five triples and went 70-9 in the pitching circle with a 1.94 ERA and 426 strikeouts in 425 innings, along with three no-hitters … Set school career records for doubles (as a hitter) and wins (as a pitcher) … As a senior, earned All-State honors and was named as the District 6A-1 co-player of the year after going 19-5 with a 2.12 ERA … A four-time Big All-City selection by The Oklahoman, making the newspaper’s second-team honor list as a freshman and sophomore and first-team list as a junior and senior … An All-Edmond first-team pick by the Edmond Sun as a junior and senior after earning second-team honors as a sophomore.
