Finance major … Was battling for starting nod at shortstop when his season was cut short by injury … Took a medical redshirt season as a result … Figures to be in the mix somewhere in the OC infield … 2013: Played in 10 games (all starts), hitting .294 with one home run and nine RBIs … Also hit six doubles, which ranked sixth on the team despite his limited playing time, and five stolen bases (in six attempts) … Had a .471 slugging percentage and .415 on-base percentage … Opening-day starter at shortstop in 14-2 win over Schreiner (Texas), going 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs,  two runs scored and a stolen base … Homered and went 2-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored in 12-3 romp at Texas A&M-Kingsville … Went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in 6-5 loss at Texas A&M International … Final appearance of season came on March 1 in a 2-1 win over Central Methodist (Mo.), a game in which he walked twice and stole two bases … Previous school: As a sophomore at Grayson (Texas) College, hit .353 with two home runs and 14 RBIs … Before playing junior-college ball at Grayson, attended Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he played for current OC coach Lonny Cobble … Named to Oklahoma’s Heartland Classic roster in 2010 … Received honorable mention on The Oklahoman’s All-State team and reserve Big All-City honors from the newspaper in 2010 after hitting .386 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs.
