Biography

General Business major … Speedy outfielder and hard-throwing left-handed pitcher who brings a unique versatility to the OC lineup … Affects games with his speed and his power, as he’s capable of hitting the long ball … Played for OC coach Lonny Cobble at Edmond Santa Fe High School …2015: Played in 57 games (56 starts), hitting .299 with a team-high nine home runs and 35 RBIs … Also had 13 doubles and four triples, good for a team-high .543 slugging percentage, which ranked sixth in the Heartland Conference … Stole eight bases (in 11 attempts) … Led team in runs scored with 57 … On the mound, made 10 appearances, going 0-0 with two saves, an 8.10 ERA and 11 strikeouts and 17 walks in 10 innings pitched … Received honorable mention on the All-NCCAA Central Region teams … Named to the Heartland Conference academic Honor Roll’s Commissioner’s List … Tied for second in home runs (9) and triples (4) and ninth in doubles (13) in the Heartland Conference … Homered, recorded two RBIs and scored two runs in OC’s first win of the season, at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Feb. 10 … Second homer came as part of a 2-for-3, four-RBI performance that included a triple in win over Dakota State (S.D.) on Feb. 15 … On Feb. 20, went 3-for-4 with three runs scored … Hit a solo home run as part of a 3-for-4 outing in loss at St. Edward’s (Texas) on March 7 … Hit two doubles as part of 2-for-4 outing in win at Texas A&M International on March 20, then had two hits again the next day and scored twice in another win over TAMIU to complete a series sweep … That was the start of a seven-game hitting streak … Recorded his first career save in win over Newman (Kan.) on in the series opener on March 27, recording two strikeouts in a shutout inning, after hitting a pair of doubles earlier in the game … On March 28, went 2-for-6 with a double, a home run and four RBIs – on a ninth-inning grand slam – as OC finished a series win against Newman with a 10-6 win …  Went 2-for-3 in loss to Texas-Permian Basin on April 3 … Went 2-for-4 with a double in win over Southeastern Oklahoma State on April 6 … Had a memorable game against his former team on April 7, hitting a solo home run, scoring twice, and recording his second career save, striking out four batters and allowing one run during a season-long three-inning stint of work … Had a pair of two-hit games in series sweep against Oklahoma Panhandle State on April 10-11 … In series win at Lubbock Christian (Texas) on April 25-26, went 5-for-12 with seven runs scored, three RBIs, two home runs, a double and a stolen base … Homered as part of a 3-for-5 performance with a career-high five RBIs in a 7-4 win at Arkansas-Fort Smith on May 2 … Had three two-hit games – against Crowley’s Ridge (Ark.), McMurry (Texas) and Central Baptist (Ark.) – as OC swept to NCCAA Central Region title in Conway, Ark., on May 13-16 … Hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to spark a three-run rally and force extra innings in 4-3, 12-inning loss to Fresno Pacific (Calif.) in NCCAA World Series semifinals in Mason, Ohio on May 22 … Previous school: Played two seasons at Oklahoma City University, in 2012 and 2014 … As sophomore in 2014, played in 51 games (40 starts), hitting .296 with five home runs and 23 RBIs and tying for team lead with 12 stolen bases (in 13 attempts) … On the mound, went 0-0 in four appearances with a 9.82 ERA with three strikeouts and three walks in 3 2/3 innings … Helped Stars finish 35-19 … Redshirted during the 2013 season … As a freshman at OCU in 2012, played in 16 games, hitting .353 with two RBIs … On the mound, went 0-1 with a 1.04 ERA and 14 strikeouts and 11 walks in 8 2/3 innings as team finished 48-12 … Opponents batted .182 against him … Struck out side against Briar Cliff (Iowa) on March 17 … Went 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI vs OC on April 17 … Threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings with one strikeout vs. Mount Marty (Iowa) on May 10 in NAIA Championship Opening Round … After freshman season, led his American Legion team to a state championship … Before OCU, starred at Edmond Santa Fe High School … Received honorable mention on The Oklahoman’s Big All-City list as a senior in 2011 … Named to played in the Oklahoma City Area Baseball Coaches Association’s All-Star Game in 2011 … Hit game-winning home run off future Major League Baseball first-round draft choice Archie Bradley of Broken Arrow in 6-5 win on April 23 … Threw no-hitter against Norman as junior while attending and playing for Mustang High School … Named to Oklahoma Heartland Classic team … Named to Junior Sunbelt and Sophomore Sunbelt teams.
