EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian men's and women's swimming got an early look at where they stand entering the 2026-27 season, competing in an official intrasquad timed trial.

The Eagles competed across four 50-yard events — butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle — giving the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate the team in a competitive setting.

On the men's side, Gui Martins finished atop the overall leaderboard. Martins posted the fastest 50 butterfly time of the session at 25.47 and also led the field in the 50 backstroke with a time of 27.47.

Several Eagles turned in strong individual performances throughout the trial. Anthony Sacco recorded the fastest 50 freestyle time at 23.76, while Dallas Jones led the way in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 30.25. Sacco finished second on the overall leaderboard, followed by Brayden Stalcup, Gunnar Roestenberg and Victor Cintron Rosario rounding out the top five.

The women were led by Vanessa Weatherford, who claimed the top spot on the overall leaderboard. Weatherford recorded the fastest 50 butterfly time at 28.49 and turned in a 31.30 in the 50 backstroke and a 26.36 in the 50 freestyle.

Reese Dickman finished second overall and led the field in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 34.81. Mattie Shearer, Isabel Swarr and Elena Rollen completed the women's top five.

The timed trial gave Oklahoma Christian's swimmers an early opportunity to race in a competitive environment while establishing marks to build on as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season.

The Eagles will see how they stack up in the RMAC last this month when they face off with UT Permian Basin on September 25th at 6:30 p.m. - Location is to be determined.
