No. 25 Eagles Split Pair of Games on Day Two of Festival

EDMOND, Okla. - No. 25 Oklahoma Christian suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, 2-1, before rebounding against Fort Lewis in the night cap, 7-1.

Ella Resendiz earned her second save of the season in the victory over Fort Lewis while also logging a double and a run scored. Jill Dickson's (4-0) day in the circle started off with a no-decision against Oklahoma Baptist after pitching the final three scoreless innings in relief, recording seven strikeouts, before pitching the first four against the Skyhawks and claiming the win.

At the plate, Danae Lopez (3-for-5) and Maci George (2-for-8) were the only two Eagles to see a hit in both games. Kallie Rupp recorded three of OC's five RBI in game two of the day, finishing 2-for-3 at the dish. Rupp currently leads the team with 10 RBI on the year.

No. 25 Oklahoma Christian (7-1, 0-0 LSC) leaves non-conference play and begins league play Saturday, Feb. 14 when Cameron travels north to the Lawson Softball Complex for a twin bill beginning at 2 p.m.

Game One: Oklahoma Baptist 2, No. 25 Oklahoma Christian 1
McKenna Ingram got the starting call in the circle for the second time this season, allowing just two runs off four hits in four innings of work. The Eagle bats were unable to help her out, however, managing just three hits over during her stretch on the rubber.

Dickson continued to give OC's offense a chance, retiring nine of the 14 batters she faced, but the maroon-and-gray were unable to take advantage of runners in scoring position on two different occasions late in the game.

Game Two: No. 25 Oklahoma Christian 7, Fort Lewis 1
Dickson continued where she left off the previous game, holding Fort Lewis hitless during her four innings. This time, OC took full advantage, plating six runs on eight hits in just three frames.

Fort Lewis was able to break away from the potential combined no-hitter, scoring its first and only run of the game in the sixth inning before Resendiz gave the Eagles one final run in the home-half of the sixth off a lead-off double for the 7-1 final tally.
