SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Oklahoma Christian trailed early before tying it halfway through, but St. Mary's pulled away late in game one of three-game series Friday evening, 10-5.
Trey Migl (2-for-5) and
Ruben Castro (2-for-5) both logged multiple hits while
Tanner Forbus reached base safely three times with a hit and two walks in the lead-off position, while also scoring two runs.
Corbin Kwan (0-1) recorded seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings while
Evan Ballast earned a no-decision with another solid appearance out of the bullpen two strikeouts along with two allowed hits in two innings of work.
Tim Malone echoed Ballast's two strikeouts in the final 1.2 frames.
After falling behind 5-1 after two innings, Kwan held StMU scoreless over the next two frames as OC was able to tied it up 5-5 after plating four unanswered. Six of the Eagles' seven hits came in those first five innings, however, as the Rattlers absorbed the blow with their own five unanswered for the 10-5 victory.
Oklahoma Christian (1-3, 1-3 LSC) will return to Dickson Stadium Saturday, Feb. 7 for game two, with first pitch set for 2 p.m. Â
