EDMOND, Okla. - After Oklahoma Christian took a two-games-to-one series lead against Lubbock Christian yesterday, the Chaparalls won their second game of the weekend in Saturday's series finale to match OC at two games a piece, 10-0.
The Eagles claimed just three hits on the day from
Tanner Forbus (1-for-3),
Justin Spencer (1-of-2) and
Elijah Laus (1-for-2). On the mound,
Evan Ballast earned the no-decision with his second relief appearance of the weekend, throwing 4.1 innings, striking out four LCU batters.
The maroon-and-gray got their first of three hits in just the team's second at-bat, but did not see another base hit until the fourth inning. During that time, a 5-0 lead had already been established before rattling off five more in the fifth and eighth frame.
Oklahoma Christian saw a runner advance to second base three times prior to the eighth inning, and even put runners on the corners in what would wind up being the last half-inning of the game, but a fly-out to center put an end to play, 10-0.
The Eagles (3-7, 3-7 LSC) will hit the road for its second road trip of the 2026 season when it heads south to San Angelo, Texas to face No. 11 Angelo State Feb. 20-22.
