Yanovitch Earns Third LSC Men's Golfer of the Week Honor of Fall

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian senior Christian Yanovitch has been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the third time this fall, the league announced Thursday.

Yanovitch, a native of Griswold, Conneticut, earned the honor after winning medalist honors at the NCAA West/South Central Region Preview at The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. He carded a 13-under 65-69-69–203 to take the individual title by one stroke over a field of 90 golfers.

His opening-round 65 (7-under) tied for the lowest round of the event. Yanovitch also tied for the best par-5 scoring average in the field at 4.25 and tied for the most eagles with two.

The award is Yanovitch's third LSC weekly honor this fall, following selections on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8. No other LSC men's golfer was named more than once this season.

Yanovitch wrapped up the fall shooting under par in 13 of his 15 rounds. Of the other two, he finished even par in one and 2-over in the other.

The Region Preview title came two weeks after one of the best rounds in program history. On Oct. 13, Yanovitch fired a 10-under 61 in the final round of the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club, setting both a course record and an OC program record. The bogey-free round (29-32) included four birdies on each nine and an eagle on No. 9. The previous Amarillo CC record was a 62, set in 2024 by St. Mary's Kongpop Kaikaew, while OC's program mark was a 63 shared by Oskari Nikku (2025) and Alejandro Armijo (2022).

Yanovitch is ranked No. 2 nationally in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd Division II Men's Player Rankings released Oct. 28. As a team, the Eagles are No. 11 in both the Clippd team rankings and the Bushnell Golf/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll.
